Kayu Collection 2024

When I married my amazing husband (almost eight years ago), I was welcomed into his beautiful family, many of whom are Indonesian. I remember that first visit to Indonesia and how out of place I felt. A new climate, new customs, new language, new food, new expectations and newly married! It was a lot. Haha! But I pushed in, I listened, I learned, I tried new things, I laughed at myself and I jumped into the dance (literally)!

Fast forward seven years… and this year’s trip to Indonesia felt like going home! This beautiful country has nestled itself into my heart and soul. And I always come back inspired by my experiences there. The Kayu Collection was designed in Indonesia and inspired by it’s tropical forests - and by my family who live there. “Kayu” (kai-you) is the Indonesian word for wood. This collection incorporates wooden beads sourced from Indonesia as well as other types of wood hand cut in my home studio in Wisconsin.
